Evelyn Williams

Evelyn F. Hurt Williams, 89 of Montcalm, WV, went to her heavenly home, Friday, July 24, 2020. She was a faithful member of South View Church from its plant in 2004. She worked hard for the Lord and she was ready to go home. Evelyn was born March 6, 1931 in Ohio to the late Claude A. Hurt and the late Virginia Tidy Hurt. She married Carl C. Williams, May 15, 1948 and was married sixty years before his death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Carleene Mills and Rebecca Williams. Also, stepmother Letha McClure and her husband George. She is survived by her daughter, Edith Jarrell of Bluefield, sons Blaine (Rhonda) Williams of Spanishburg, WV and Daniel (Michele) Williams of Montcalm, WV with whom she made her home. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews whom she loved dearly. Special friends, Ed and the late Anne Spurgeon, ‘Pipe Smoker’ and Jimmie Starling, Sammy Cox and Donna Williams. Per her wish, she was cremated, no formal services are being held. A private graveside service will be held for family and close friends, Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 1 pm, Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Bluefield, VA Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
