Ernest Alvin “Ernie” Combs, 63, of Sandlick Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his home. Born on February 14, 1955 in Princeton, he was a son of the late Charles Edward and Juanita Ball Combs. He had been a lifelong resident of Sandlick and was a “jack of all trades”. He was a truck driver, heavy equipment operator, mechanic and business owner. Ernie was a friend to anyone that met him. He was happiest when helping others.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his brothers, Jody, Charles, Carl, Elbert, Billy and Paul Combs; and sisters, Flora Mae Redman, Rebecca Sadlier, Mattie Burchett, Carol Wagner, and Mary Booher.Survivors include:Sisters: Kay (Bob) Berry of Grand Junction, CONora (Smith) Trivett of Pipestem, WVJoy (David) Hubbard of Bluefield, WVLena (Al) Akey of Grand Junction, COAnd a host of nieces and nephewsFuneral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minister Ronald Booher officiating.
