Ernest Chizmar, 86, of Camilla Drive (Bluewell), (6/15/30 – 4/14/17) passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at Bluefield Regional Hospital. He was the son of John Andrew and Bertha Horvath Chizmar. He was a graduate of Elkhorn High School and a veteran of the US Marines. He was a member of the Princeton Elks. He enjoyed his career with Consolidation Coal Co and retired as mine superintendent at the Turkey Gap and Itmann mines. He was the last surviving sibling of eight brothers and sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Sandy Rossouw. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Delida Chizmar, son, Michael Chizmar and wife Sandi, daughter Patricia Shaffer and husband Frank, son-in-law, Marc Rossouw, granddaughters, Katie Shaffer, Melanie Butler and husband Patrick, Kristin Chizmar, grandsons, John Shaffer, Derek Worrell and wife Stefanie, Scott Gray and wife Debbie, great grandchildren Kailea and Tyler and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be officiated by Father Mark Tyson at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church in Bluefield, WV on Tuesday 10:00 AM, April 18, 2017. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV. Pallbearers will include family and friends of the family. The family will receive friends Monday, April 17, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM with an evening prayer service at 7:30PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV.
