Erma Gail Stock

Erma Gail Stock of Bluefield, West Virginia departed this life on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  Gail was 77 years old.

Gail was born on June 27, 1942, a native of Mercer County and daughter to the late Jeremiah “Jerry” Moody and Athlone McKenzie Moody.  Gail was a 1960 graduate of Montcalm High School where she was Salutatorian of her senior class, and a cheerleader.  She resided for the majority of her life in the Montcalm and Bluefield WV areas. Gail was a homemaker who greatly enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, and the many friendships she had made over the course of her lifetime.  Gail most recently shared in her faith at East End Baptist Church, Bluefield WV.

Gail was preceded in death by her husband Jim C. “Sibo” Stock; parents Jerry and Athlone Moody; brothers Gerald Rudolph Moody, Eric Melvin Moody, Clyde Calvert Moody, William Alonzo Moody; sisters Jerry Mae Jenkins, Naomi Harless, and Pansy Lea Moody.

Gail is survived by her two sons Karl Kevin Stock (Amber) of Beckley WV, and Jody Jay Stock (Elizabeth) of Lake Wylie, SC; three grandchildren Emily Stock (Andrew) of Athens WV, Madison Stock, Lake Wylie SC, and Andrew Stock, Bluffton SC; two great grandchildren Colby and Berklee.  In addition, she is survived by brother Ona Bryant Moody (Barbara), Rock WV, special nephew Randall McMillan (Barbara) Rock WV, and a host of other cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family welcomes visitation by friends and relatives on Monday, August 12, 9:00am at Craven Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell WV, with a brief funeral service to follow at 10:00am.  Gail’s graveside rites will be held immediately after the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell WV, where she will now rest at the side of her husband Jim.
