Elsie Marie Hoback

Elsie Marie Wyatt Hoback, 94, of Skygusty, WV, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023 at her home.

Born on December 13, 1928 in Blackwolfe, WV, she was a daughter of the late George and Augusta Dishorn Wyatt. She had been a resident of Skygusty for 71 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Hoback; a son, Douglas Hoback; a grandson, Thornton Woolridge; brothers, Charlie and Andy Wyatt; and sisters, Virginia Wilson, Viola Shoun, Mandy Yates, Jessie Garrison and Rachel Ward.

Survivors include her son, Tony Hoback and wife Pam of Mt. Gilead, OH; daughters: Carolyn Ball and husband Lonnie of Skygusty, WV, Kathryn Marrs and husband Roney of Brewsterdale, WV, and Darlene Shouse and husband Steve of Christiansburg, VA; 7 grandchildren: Melissa Woolridge, Aimee Dillon, Nick Marrs, Joshua Ball, Brenton Belcher, Elizabeth Wells, and Leigh-Anna Snyder; and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 1:30 PM at the Cravens-Shies Funeral Home in Bluewell with Ministers Nicholas Marrs and Joshua Ball (her grandsons) officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
