Elizabeth Shrader Jones, 93, of Duhring, West Virginia passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, West Virginia.
Elizabeth was born December 31, 1924 in Mercer County, West Virginia to the late Luther Shrader and Lila Arrington Shrader. She had been a resident of Duhring for most of her life. Elizabeth had been a member of Bluewell United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was a retired school teacher with Mercer County Board of Education, where she educated the areas youth for 55 years. During her life Elizabeth enjoyed serving at the Union Mission as bookkeeper for many years. She was also a talented piano player and enjoyed playing at various churches in the area.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elbert Jones; one sister Lila Earlene and one brother Ed Shrader.
Survivors include her son Thomas Creighton Shrader of Mendota, California; Caretaker and friend Willard Horton of Montcalm, West Virginia.
Funeral service will be held for Elizabeth on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, West Virginia with Rev. Melissa White officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluefield, West Virginia where Willard Horton along with friends will serve as pallbearers.
The Jones family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
