Eliza Haley

Eliza Haley, 80, of Bluefield, WV, passed March 23, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. 

Born May 2, 1944, in Pineville, WV, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Lucy Combs Green. Eliza had been a resident of Mercer County for 6 years and formally lived in McDowell County. She was a dedicated homemaker to her husband and children throughout her life. 

In addition to her parents, Eliza was preceded in death by her daughter, Bessie Young. 

Those left to cherish Eliza's memory are her husband, Carl Haley, of the home; sons, Floyd Phillips, of Mercer Co., James Phillips of McDowell, Co., Carl Phillips, of Mercer Co., and Allen Phillips of Ohio; daughters, Linda Green of Mercer Co., Crystal Dillon of McDowell Co., Rachel Grose of Mercer Co., and Carol Dillon of Mercer Co.; brothers, Greg, Leroy, and Earl Green; sisters, Phyllis Osborne and Elizabeth Lane; 16 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call one hour prior to services, from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM, at the funeral home.
