Eleanor "Carol" Allen

January 7, 1943 — January 31, 2024

Eleanor “Carol” Allen or Carol Allen passed peacefully in her sleep at home on January 31, 2024. Carol was born in Bluefield, WV to Almeda Merrix and Oscar Clendenin. Carol lived her childhood years in Falls Mills, VA. She graduated from Graham High School and MaClain Business College. Carol worked for Montgomery Wards in Bluefield and the WV DHHR. Carol was a member of Princeton First Assembly of God and loved her church family. Carol was a member of the General Federation of Womans Club – GFWC locally in the Valley Womans Club and also the GFWC West Virginia. She was a past President of the state GFWC from 2012 -2014 and her local club. Carol made many friends as a member of GFWC. Carol was proceeded in death by her mother Almeda Merrix and her stepfather Emory Merrix. Her father Oscar Clendenin and grandson Robbie Small. Survivors include her husband, Richard “Rick” Allen. Son, Mark Neel of Princeton, WV. Daughter Terri Neel of Clearwater, FL. Step Daughter, Lora Pringle of Jersey Shore, PA. As well as 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at Princeton First Assembly of God, 270 Assembly Lane, Princeton, WV 24739 on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 4:00 PM. Carol would like to thank her special caregivers Linda Sellers, Lisa Neal, Beckey Skeens, and Kathy Thompson. Also, the staff of Compassus Hospice.
