Edith Brown Peixoto died peacefully at her Oak Ridge, TN home on June 21, 2020. She was beloved by her family, West Virginia and Oak Ridge friends. She saw the good in everyone and was as beautiful on the inside as the outside.
Edith was born on November 16, 1922 in Buchannan, Virginia. She fell in love with Jose Peixoto and they married on November 18, 1943.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Peixoto; her mother, Mary Katherine Brown; three sisters, Pauline (John) Cortez, Ethel Engegno and Goldie Pruett; two brothers, Frank and Bud Brown; and nephew, John Cortez, Jr.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Dreama Easter, and niece Rosemary Delacruz and nephew Ben (Vera) Cortez. She was great aunt to two great nieces, Tina (Theodore) Vasquez and Kimberly Cortez, and one great nephew, Steven Cortez. She was great-great aunt to Brandon Vasquez, Vanessa Vasquez (Blake) Austin and Victoria Vasquez; and great-great-great aunt to Galena Jean Austin.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Amedisys Home Health and Amerisys Hospice for their compassionate care and kindness.
Family and friends will meet Friday, June 26, 2020, 2:00 P.M., at Woodlawn Mausoleum, Bluefield, West Virginia, for a special remembrance and final farewell.
