Dosca Turner Kirk, 97, of Double Gates, Bluefield, VA, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at a Princeton private care facility.
Born on February 9, 1924 in Raven, VA, she was a daughter of the late Monroe and Mary Reedy Turner. She had been a resident of Bluefield, VA since 1965 and was a member of the Park View Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Edward Kirk, Sr.; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Survivors include her a daughter, Donna (Richard) Baugh of Bluefield, WV son, Donald “Eddie” (Nancy) Kirk, Jr. of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren, Michelle (Ken) Morin of Lawsonville, NC, Anthony (Niki) Kirk of Marietta, GA, and Amy Kirk of Bluefield, WV; great-grandchildren, Addam (Aaliyah) Byers, Corbin (Ellen) Byers, Kelsey (Austin) Lachenberg, Kaleb Kirk, Hunter Kirk, and Clinton (Samantha) Hatfield; great-great grandchildren, Edmond, Emma, Lilly, and Zelek.
The family also wishes to thank her special caretakers at the Nelson Rest Home, Shelby, Regina and Felicia.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Chaplain C.T. Lilly officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Friends may call on Thursday, from 1:00-2:00PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or Amedisys Hospice.
