Doris Mitchelson

Doris Mitchelson, 86, of Magnolia Street, Bluefield, WV, went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, August 7, 2019.

Born on May 28, 1933 in Mudfork, she was a daughter of the late McKinley and Lou Wimmer Sluss. Doris worked at Bluefield Regional Medical Center for 25 years taking care of newborn babies and loved it dearly.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard B. Mitchelson; a son, McKinley “Wayne” Mitchelson; and a grandson, Adam Wayne Mitchelson.

Survivors include her children, Howard Lee (Rhonda) Mitchelson of Princeton, Libby (James) Pridemore of Wytheville, VA, and Joe (Mary) Mitchelson of Bluefield. She has 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Donald Lyn Mitchelson officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Bluefield with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
