Doris Evelyn Burgess

Doris Evelyn Burgess, 84, of Pocahontas, VA and Heritage Hall in Tazewell, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.   Born on February 15, 1933 in Pocahontas, VA, she was a daughter of the late Herman Paul and Ethel Hedrick Davidson. She had been a lifelong resident of Pocahontas and was a member of the Boissevain Pentecostal Church.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Norris and Bob Davidson.   Survivors include:   Son:       Ed Burgess and wife Betty of Crimora, VA   1 grandson:        Chris Burgess and wife Stacy of Grottoes, VA   2 great grandchildren: Joshua and Jaelynn   Sister:   Ruth McCarty of Lewisville, CO   Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Ronnie Hess officiating.
