Donald Ray Miller

Donald Ray Miller, Pipestem, WV, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at a WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital. 

Born on March 6, 1945 in Jenkinjones, WV, he was a son of the late Elza and Ida Mae Woodards Miller. He had been a resident of Pipestem since 2005 and was a retired 39-year coal miner with US Steel. He was a member of the UMWA. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Alma Jean Forrest, Shirley Pugh and Mallie Evans; and brothers, Robert Miller and Thomas Miller. 

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Carol Cunningham Miller of Princeton; son, Donald Ray Miller, Jr. (Jessie) of Lowgap, NC; Daughters, Rosalyn Banner of Winston-Salem, NC, Ida Mae Mitchem of Glenwood; and Sherry (Bruce) Cameron of Glenwood; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; brother, John (Burnadette) Miller of Palm Bay, FL and a sister, Rose Franklin of Princeton. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minister Rick Mathena officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Friends may call on Wednesday, prior to services, from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
