Donald Eugene Helmondollar

Donald Eugene Helmondollar, 86, of Lorton Lick Road, Bluefield, WV passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Princeton Community Hospital. He was born November 18, 1931 at Squire, WV, the son of the late Jim Ed and Ruby Grace Helmondollar.Don worked for Coppinger Machinery Service for 28.5 years as a purchasing agent and EimCo Coal for 12 years, both located on Rt. 52 N. in Bluefield, WV. Don has been very active in church work since he was 15 years old with area youth rallies, Christian Acres as treasurer and a member of the board since it started. He was a youth Sunday school teacher and adult teacher, and Elder at Maple View Church of Christ for many years. Don was a member of Bailey Masonic Lodge AF & AM #137 where he received his 50 year pin.In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Lacy Helmondollar, a son Rodney Eugene Helmondollar, and brothers, Ray, Curtis, and Eddie Helmondollar.Survivors include his son Randall Helmondollar and wife Joyce of Bluefield, WV; two grandchildren, Janie and little Randall Helmondollar II; and brother, Willis Helmondollar and wife Linda of Rocky Gap, VA; sisters-in-law, Shirley Helmondollar of Montcalm, WV, Virginia Helmondollar of Montcalm, WV, and Rosemary Helmondollar of Preston, KY; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Monday, July 2, 2018 at 7:00 PM with Minister Tony Reed conducting the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until service time.Pallbearers will be nephews and honorary pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of Maple View Church of Christ. Interment will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV those wishing to attend Graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m.
