Dewey Thomas Smith

Dewey Thomas Smith, 83, of Kimball, WV, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the Mercer Healthcare Center in Bluefield. 

Born on December 10, 1940 in Carswell Hollow, he was a son of the late Wayne William and Emma Mae Smith. He was a member of the Carswell Community Church and was a disabled coal miner for Eastern Coal Company. He was a member of the UMWA. 

Survivors include his wife, Shelby Smith of the home; daughter, Tammie Smith (David Williams) of Princeton; and sister, Delores (Fred) Linse of Hendersonville, NC. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Donald Willliams officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Friends may call on prior to services on Thursday, from 1:00-2:00 PM, at the funeral home.
