Dewey "Jimmy" B. Spears

Dewey B. (Jimmy) Spears, 76, of GlenWood Park Retirement Village, formerly of White Oak Estates in Green Valley, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017.Born June 13, 1941 in Amonate, Virginia he was the son of the late Harlow and Ethel Spears.He worked many years in the coal industry before becoming an automotive technician at Ramey Auto Group where he worked up until his retirement.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cherrie Spears; his daughter, Lola Lambert; one great-grandson, J. J. Gore and two brothers, Ronald Spears and Ray Spears.He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with each of them, most especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and his faithful companion, his cat, Scooter.Left to cherish his memory are four daughters, Jean Jarrett and husband, Tim, of Falls Mills, VA; Julia Varble and husband, Kevin, of Williamsburg, VA; Teresa Dye and husband, JW, of Morgantown, WV; Janet Bishop of Montcalm, WV. One son, James Spears and wife, Cindy, of Gloucester, VA; grandchildren, Crystal Gore, Shawna Lambert, TJ Jarrett, Amanda Stolins, Daniel Lowe, Amanda Carr, Casey Dye, Courtney Dye, Jamie Spears, Amanda Toth, Michael Phillips, and Chase Mullins; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Yaros of Valparaiso, IN and Dorothy Smith of Modesto, CA; several nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 02, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluefield, West Virginia with Rev. Gary Lyons officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluefield, West Virginia where family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, November 02, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
