Dennis Lowe Wimmer

Dennis Lowe Wimmer, 87, of Bluefield, WV passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born December 11, 1935 in Raleigh County, WV, he was a son of the late Morris Brown and Ethel Dalton Wimmer. Dennis was an electrician and had retired from Bluefield Regional Medical Center with 28 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and animals of all kinds. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by two sons, Danny Salyer and Robert Anthony Jones; sister, Ava Stowers; and four brothers, Harold, Dewey, Melvin, and Arnold Wimmer. Those left to cherish Dennis’ memory are his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Wimmer of the home; sons, Morris (Selina) Wimmer of Green Valley, WV, Billy (Tabitha) Wimmer of Bluewell, WV, and Mark (Donna) Jones of Peterstown, WV; daughter-in-law, Lorna Jones of Rock, WV; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Mabe officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens where grandsons will serve as pallbearers and Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Mercer County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
