Deannie Nolan Mitchem

Deannie Nolan Mitchem, 78, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Born April 19, 1943 in Beartown, WV, he was the son of the late William Everette and Juanita Crowder Mitchem.

Deannie was a retired coal miner with 32 years of service and loved his job. He worked at Crane Creek Mine and was chief electrician at Ekman Mine. He loved Drag racing and working on old cars of any kind. He also owned an excavating company and did much work for the area. Most of all, he loved his family.

Those left to cherish Deannie’s memory are his wife, Loretta Dunford Mitchem of the home; sons, Rodney Lee Mitchem of Bluefield, WVand William Nolan Mitchem; daughter, Sherry Lynn Mitchem; grandson, Rodney Lee Mitchem, Jr. of Bluefield, WV; brothers, Dale Mitchem, Ryland Fairly Mitchem & Family, and Ronald Mitchem & Family; brother-in-law’s, Robert (Debbie) Dunford, Ward (Betty) Riggs, Tommy (Janet) Perdue, Sanford (Aleen) Kendrick, Richard (Shirley) White, Kenneth (Phyllis) Minnix, and Freddie Dunford.

There will be no public services. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Mitchem family.
