Pharoh's Army Got Drowned. David W. Farley of Princeton, West Virginia, died peacefully in his home on October 9, 2022, after a two year courageous battle with kidney disease he entered the land where we never grow old.
He was the son of the late Robert C. Farley, Sr and Hazel Agee Farley. David was born at the Bluefield Sanitarium Hospital on February 22, 1952. He was raised in Paradise, Pocahontas, Virginia. He graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1970 where he was an outstanding athlete playing football and basketball for the Pocahontas Indians. After high school, David enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was quickly deployed to the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam War. Upon completion of his military service David returned home and was proud to follow in his father's footsteps as a dedicated coal miner for 20 years. For the last 20 years, David assisted his brother John Farley at the Riverview Camp Ground in Narrows, Virginia.
David was an avid Braves fan and watched as many games possible. He also attended games in Atlanta. He was ecstatic with the Braves World Series Title 2021. He loved his Mountaineers and Cavaliers as well.
David enjoyed fresh water trout fishing in various streams and waterways of southwest Virginia. He also was a deer hunter. David was devoted to his family, his friends, and his campground community.
He is survived by his fiancee, Debra McClanahan. His son David M. Farley and his fiancee, Stephanie.

He has 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. David is survived by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as a host of many friends.
Cravens Shires Funeral Home is serving the Farley family. David was cremated per his request.
Friends may call on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 5-6pm with a service following at 6:00 PM pm. The Reverend Shawn Boone officiating.
