Corey Lee McKinney

Corey Lee McKinney, age 26, of Bluewell, passed away Sunday May 24, 2020  as a result of injuries sustained in a UTV accident.

Corey was born on August 2, 1993 in Bluefield, WV to C. Daniel and Rhonda Sparks McKinney. He was a Montcalm High School alumnus, former Correctional Officer for the Virginia Department of Corrections and a welder for Norfolk Southern Corporation. Corey enjoyed hunting, nature and riding the trails with his friends every chance he had.  He was known for his contagious grin, laugh and sense of humor.

On May 23, 2020, 24 hours prior to his passing, Corey married his best friend and love of his life, Sabrina Marie McKinney. They spent their day surrounded by the people who loved them most. The happiness, love and joy from their wedding day will forever be cherished and remembered.

Corey is survived by his wife, Sabrina France McKinney of Bluewell and their fur babies, Sophia and Shiloh; parents, Daniel and Rhonda of Bluewell; brother, Richard McKinney of Princeton; nephew, Clayton McKinney of Kegley and his lifelong best friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday June 6, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Deliverance Temple in Brushfork with Rev. David Kirby officiating. Friends may call from 1:30 – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
