Clinton Thompson

Clinton Thompson, 84, of Bluefield, WV, passed Friday, July 26, 2024, surrounded by his family. 

Born June 28, 1940, in Maybeury, WV, he was the last living son of Charles and Mae Smith Thompson. Clinton worked over forty years in the coal mining industry and was a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents and siblings, Clinton was preceded in death by a son, Kelvin Thompson. 

Those left to cherish Clinton's memory are his wife, Rita Hartwell Thompson; six sons; three daughters; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. 

A graveside service will be held Monday, July 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Kathy Hagerman officiating. Entombment will follow services, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
