Claudine Beatrice Mitchem

Bluefield- Claudine Beatrice Mitchem, 92, of Bluefield, WV, formerly of Crumpler, WV, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at the home of her son. Born September 3, 1925 in Welch, WV, she was a daughter of the late Winfield and Maude Francis Shumate Hall. Mrs. Mitchem was an active member of the Bluewell United Methodist Church, the XYZ Club and the Choir. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Harry Mitchem, one brother; Woodrow Hall, five sisters; Masie Burks, Mabel Byrd, Elsie Watkins, Ruth Dean, and Irene Lusk Anderson. Mrs. Mitchem is survived by a son; Rodney Mitchem and wife Jo Ann of Bluefield, WV, two grandchildren; Jeremy and wife Katie, Alison and husband Eric, five great-grandchildren; Grady, Brody, Emery, Marley, and Esa. Funeral services will be conducted Friday December15, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with the Rev. Melissa White officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell. Serving as Pallbearers will be friends and family.
