Christie Nicole Whittaker

Christie Nicole Whittaker (Hodges), passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at her home in Glenwood at the young age of 33.

She was born September 26, 1989 and is the daughter of Michael Hodges of Hillsville, VA and Sissy Hall of Brushfork. She was preceded in death by her loving grandma Helen Hall Pruitt, grandpa Ralph Bradley Pruitt, mother-in-law Caroletta Whittaker, and father-in-law Charlie Whittaker.

In addition to her parents survivors include her husband Roy Whittaker and their 5 adorable, loving, amazing children: Amiah Whittaker age 5, A.J. Whittaker age 7, Acedees Whittaker age 10, Anthony Whittaker age 13, and Ashton Whittaker age 14, all of the home. Sisters Brittany Hodges of Bluefield and Kaileigh Hodges of Montcalm, aunt Tonya Pruitt of Brushfork, and uncle Joe Hall and wife Patty of Bluewell. Her life-long bestfriend Amber Jennings. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she adored very much.

Christie was a loving, caring, wife, mother, daughter, niece, sister, aunt and friend. She was a funny, down-to-earth, full-of-life, type of person who loved her kids and family a lot. She loved swimming, going to the park with her loved ones, puddle boating, playing cards, spending time with her kids and family, and the beach.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Terry Lambert officiating. Family and friends may call the funeral home from 1-2.
