Chester William Workman, Sr.

Chester William Workman, Sr., 87, of Bluefield, WV passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at Princeton Health Care. Born January 21, 1938 in Northfork, WV, he was a son of the late John H. Workman and Mary Francis Lambert Workman. Chester was retired from the State of WV Liquor Retail and was a proud veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by his wife, Melva Geraldine "Gerri" Sigmon Workman and a son, Charles Edward Burnette. 

Those left to cherish Chester's memory are his children, Chester Workman, Jr. and wife, Laura of Bluefield, WV Kimberly Erskine of Bluefield, WV, and Evelyn "Denise" Kirk and husband, Robert of Bluefield, WV; brother, Jerry Workman and wife, Cheryl of Pembroke, VA; sisters, Dorothy Belcher of Lancaster, SC, and Shirely Honaker of Ozark, AL; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Poff officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where Chester Workman, Jr., Eddie Workman, Tony Workman, Jeremy Workman, Jerry Workman, and Jerry McVey will serve as pallbearers. The Mercer County Veteran's Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Workman family.
