Charlotte Fay Agnew

Charlotte Fay Agnew, 72, of Sandlick Rd, Bluefield, WV passed away on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023 at Princeton Community Hospital. She was surrounded by family as she gained her wings.  Born August 26, 1951 in Leckie, WV, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Edna Johnston Lester. Charlotte devoted her life to her family.  Her happiest moments were times when she was doing something that brought joy to her family such as cooking meals for them or playing with her grandchildren.  She always made every holiday special.  Of all the names she was known by, her favorite was Grandma.  In her early years she loved to play the piano and sing.  She had a beautiful voice and was a member of The Lester Family gospel singing group with other members of her family.  Charlotte  was a woman of great faith and loved the Lord with all her heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Lester and Nellie King. 

Those left to cherish Charlotte’s memory are her loving husband of 55 years, Larry Kent Agnew, Sr. of the home; daughter, Melissa Kenneda and husband, Virgil of Lexington, SC; son, Larry Kent Agnew, Jr. and wife, Beth of Princeton, WV; brothers, Leslie Hatfield of Bluefield, WV, Kenneth “Bucky” Lester of Rock, WV, and Ricky Lester of Bluefield, WV; sisters, Drema Tote of Bluefield, WV, and Rhonda Shoemaker of Bluewell, WV; grandchildren, Alexis Agnew, Alex Kenneda, Alyssa Kenneda, Peyton Agnew, Zoey Agnew, and Mya Agnew.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Charlotte’s nephew,  Pastor Ronnie Paul Tote officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens where Alex Kenneda, Matthew Tote, Ayden Pritchett, Jamie Coburn, Virgil Kenneda and other family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Keith Barker will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.cravens-shires.com.
