Charles Blake Poe, Jr.

Charles B. “Chet” Poe, Jr., 62, of Falls Mills, VA, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024 at his home.

Leaving behind to cherish his memory are his best friend and partner in mischief, “Blake”; his loving wife of 37 years, Carol; son, Alex (Tara Sparks); daughter, Jessie (Tabbi Neal); special sister-in-law, Kathy Sarver who was always available to help; Donna for calling and checking in. Thanks also to Jessica Barnett and family for always calling and stopping to check on him. Sister; Vicki Meadors (Benny) and Mary Beth Childers (Mark). 

Chet loved anything family, but most of all he loved fishing, camping, and making sure his kids and grandson got to explore and see new places. He had a special place in his heart for all of his nieces and nephews, but he was especially close to Nick and Anthony.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charles B. and Ann N. (Helton) Poe; a brother, John and sister, Barbara Ann; great grandparents, Blake B and Netta (Lamie) Poe; Howard and Elsie (Sparks) Helton.

Chet enjoyed WVU Football and watching college basketball with his kids. Those planning on attending his celebration of life, please wear your favorite team apparel.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Larry Hagerman, Jr. officiating.

Friends may call on Friday, prior to services from 1:00-2:00 PM.
