Charles Edward Muncy, Sr.

Charles Edward Muncy Sr. of Bluefield, WV passed away at his home on October 19, 2023 surrounded by his family. Everyone who met him loved him and was blessed by his music ministry. Charles and Sue sang in many area churches over the last 60 years. Their ministry focus was worship and spreading the Gospel. Charles retired from the coal mines and his family business, Better Buys Consignment Store in Bluewell, WV.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Denise Muncy Joyce and his parents Melvin and Florence Muncy, five brothers and six sisters. There is a great cloud of witnesses and loved ones welcoming him into heaven. He is survived by his wife, Alma Sue Muncy of 62 years, daughters Rhonda and Rennie Wilson, Kelly and Jay Ferguson and son, Charles Jr. and Amy Muncy, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and brother, Walter Ray and Faye Muncy. 

The family would like to thank caregiver, Donna Flanners and Hospice Compassus.

Services will be Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Craven Shires Funeral Home. Visitation is from 10 – 11 AM with services following at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pastors Jim and Wanda Coe will be officiating the service.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
