Charles Melvin Duncan

Charles Melvin (Bub) Duncan, 58, of Asheboro, NC, and formerly of Twin Branch in McDowell County, slipped away on Monday, November 28, 2017 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be forever loved and remembered.Born on December 2, 1958 in Welch, he was a son of Martha Wooten Lester the late Melvin Duncan. He had been an employee for 24 years and was a machine operator for the Oliver Rubber Company in Asheboro. He was a very humble man. He loved spending time with his family and going to the movies, but his favorite pastime was music. After work, he would come home and turn on the stereo and just relax.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Elzie Lester.Survivors in addition to his mother include:2 children: Melissa Sue Turner and husband Jason of Asheboro, NC Charles Dewayne Duncan3 grandchildren: Haley Nicole Turner, Jason Nathaniel Turner, Kaitlyn Nicole DuncanGreat granddaughter: Stella Nova Turner4 brothers: Steve Duncan “Dunchie” Duncan Benny Lester “Punkin” Lester all of Twin Branch5 sisters: Marie Newcomb Rachel Lester Tammy Lester Ginger Mullins Crystal LesterGraveside services will be conducted at the family cemetery in Twin Branch on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 1:00PM with his brother Steve Duncan officiating.
