Charles Leon Athey passed away February 5, 2021 in Princeton Wv at his home. He graduated from Giles High school class of 66. He joined the United States Marine Corp and served Combat in Vietnam. He was a contractor for many years and done a lot of construction work all over. He went on to work at the Salem Va Medical Center which he enjoyed until he retired. His hobbies included buying and selling antiques through the years and always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a special bond with his daughter Cristy Justus and grand daughter Justice Openshaw that can never be replaced. He loved his son in law Jim like a son he never had. He leaves behind his brothers Glenn and Blake , his sisters Jeanie, Elsie and his special sister Sue. His nieces Sandy and Denise. His nephews David, Craig, Todd, and Bj. His grandson Camren Athey, Corbin and Colby Justus. He really wanted to be here to meet his great granddaughter Harper Lee but as we all pray for strength and keep faith we know in our hearts he’s with her already, waiting to send our little angel down. He was welcomed into heaven by his parents Myles and Lena Athey who he spoke about my entire life! He will always be forever missed and forever loved. Until we meet again.......
