Carrie Mae Stress

Carrie Mae Stress, 90 passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020. Born February 08, 1930 in Saltville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Grant Triplett and Armenta Magdalene (Minne) Price Triplett.

Carrie was a member of East End Baptist Church and a member of East End Baptist Women's Ministry. She believed in God answering prayers and her faith in God was shown as she shared her life with her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edward Stanley Stress; step mother, Hazel Triplett Quesenberry, step-father, Russell Quesenberry, brother, Dale Triplett; sisters, Sallie Elizabeth Triplett Ramey, Nannie Grace Boardwine, half- sister Glenda Joyce Morris, step brothers Charlie Joe Moody and Robert Bobby Moody.

Survivors include her two daughters Margaret Ann Compton and husband Robert of Jolo, WV,  Donna Kay Thornsbury and husband Michael of Bluefield, WV; three grandsons, Scotty Lee Hughes and wife Crystal of Raysal, WV, David Wayne Hughes and wife Dare of Gary, WV, Steven Brett Austin Bailey of Welch, WV; 3 great-grandchildren Robert Edward Hughes, Donovon Poore and wife  Kristen, and Hannah Burks; 1 great-great grandchild Nevaeh Poore; step sister Patsy Stapleton of Fayette, NC, step brother Jackie Ray Triplett of Hiawassi, VA; a special niece Jean (Jeannie) Darnell of Kingsport, TN, A special friend she considered like a sister, Mary Gillespie and hu and Collin, Bluefield, WV and a very special friend James (Jim) Hamm, Bluefield, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Green Hills Memory Gardens #1 Mausoleum Chapel in Cedar Bluff, VA with Rev. David Hearcy officiating. Burial will follow.

Friends may call prior to services at the mausoleum chapel, from 12:00-1:00 PM.
