Carolyn Fowler

Carolyn Fowler, 81, of Bluefield, WV, went home to Heaven on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Princeton Community Hospital. She lived her life as a devoted Christian, wife, mother grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her family.

Born on January 2, 1941 in Marion, VA, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Margaret Blevins Simons. She had been a resident of Bluefield since 2000 and was a member of the Bluefield Virginia Church of God, where she was a member of the choir and also a Sunday School teacher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and 5 brothers.

Survivors include her cherished husband of 61 years, Jimmy Fowler, Sr. of the home; sons, Jimmy (Tammy) Fowler, Jr. of Bluefield, WV, Bruce (Julie) Fowler of Roanoke, VA, and Randall Fowler of Bluefield, WV; 6 grandchildren, Justin Fowler, Samantha Fowler, Tiffany Fowler, Kelsey Leippi, Josh Fowler, and Austin Fowler; 8 great grandchildren; and a sister, Wanda Wilson of Dublin, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Tony Ellis and Rev. F.D. Sexton officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Bruce, Randy, Justin, Josh and Austin Fowler, Kelsey Leippi will serve as pallbearers. Jimmy Fowler, Jr., will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
