Carol Ann Taylor

February 15, 1941 — September 25, 2017

Carol Ann (Barnette) Taylor, 76 of Asheville, NC formerly of Bluefield, WV passed peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC surrounded by her children.  Born in Carswell, WV on February 15, 1941, the oldest child of the late Bernie and Sadie Barnette.  Carol graduated from Gary High School and was on several committees throughout the years. Carol was married to the love of her life, Lindon T. Taylor who passed away on February 2, 2003.  She was preceded in death by her son, Lindon T. (Tommy) Taylor, II and Lori Taylor as well as her brothers Bernie Barnette, Jr. and Charles (Randy) Barnette. Carol lived life by loving with all her heart. She would help anyone she could and loved with no restrictions. She will be greatly missed by her children, family, and friends. Survivors include her beloved children: Sons Steven (Marty) Taylor of Asheville, NC, who was her caretaker for the past 3 years, C. Michael (wife, Shauna) Taylor of Castlewood, VA and Adam Taylor of Princeton, WV and Daughters Jodi (husband, Roger) Poore of Princeton, WV and Brittani (Bree) Taylor of Asheville, NC.  Her grandchildren are Tommy Taylor, Taylor, Brooke, Adrian and Logan Poore, Jasmine and Jonathan Howard and Caitlyn Taylor. Surviving siblings are John (wife, Karen) Barnette, of S. Charleston, WV,  Joyce (husband, Carl) Thomas of Bluefield, WV, Doris Minnix of Big Stone Gap, VA and Beth Wooten of Rocky Mount., VA and many nieces, nephews and other family. Visitation will be Friday night at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV from 6-8 PM.  Funeral service will be on Saturday at the funeral home at 11 AM with Rev. Larry B. Roberts officiating.  Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bluewell, WV. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Cravens-Shires Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
