Carol Sue Franklin, 76, of Big Sandy, West Virginia passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the residence of her sister in Beckley, West Virginia.
Carol was born on February 15, 1943 in Freeburn, Kentucky to the late Alfred and Margaret York Rose. She had been a resident of Big Sandy, West Virginia for the past 60 years.
In addition to her parents Carol was preceded in death by her son, Richard Corey Franklin; one brother, Leonard Rose.
Carol is survived by her husband, Richard Franklin of the home; brothers, Clifford Rose and wife Betty of Wales, Michigan; James Rose and wife Wanda of Powhatan, West Virginia; Darrell Rose of Canton, Michigan; Allen Rose of Hazel Park, Michigan; Sisters, Norman Wolford of Romulus, Michigan; Lorretta Gross of Majestic, Kentucky; Lois Prater of Canton, Michigan; Ruth Blankenship of Romulus, Michigan; Wanda Rice and husband Bill of Marysville, Tennessee; Mary Riffe and husband Britton of Beckley, West Virginia and Hope Gilliland and husband Frank of Stopover, Kentucky. Two grandchildren Richard Gabriel Franklin of Idaho and Hunter Franklin of Big Sandy, West Virginia.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia with Rev. Kenneth Rice and Rev. James Rose officiating the service. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum in Bluewell, West Virginia where friends and family will be serving as pallbearers.
The Franklin family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, June 16, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
