Carl Henry Adkins

Carl Henry Adkins, 78, of Brierwood Court, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born on October 1, 1941 in Ada, he was a son of the late James and Maggie Bowling Adkins. He had been a resident of Bluefield for 16 years and was of the Baptist faith. He had worked 40 years in Maryland and was a retired auto mechanic.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Hazel, Helen, Louis, James (Brownie), Elbert, Paul and Claude. He was the last member of his family.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Adkins of the home; a son, Carl H. (Jeanne) Adkins, Jr. of Salem, WV; daughter, Angela (Patrick) Kane of Ashburn, VA; grandchildren, Joshua of Salem, WV; Jacob, Rachel and Benjamin Kane of Ashburn, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. George Adkins, Carl Adkins, Jr., Wayne Marders, Patrick Kane, Jacob Kane, and Joshua Adkins will serve as pallbearers. 

Friends may call prior to services on Monday, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
