Britton Mansfield Riffe

Britton Mansfield Riffe, 76, of Beckley, West Virginia formerly of Pineville, West Virginia passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, West Virginia.

Britton was born on August 23, 1942 in Gilbert, West Virginia to the late Herbert and Eda Lester Riffe. Britton had been a resident of Beckley for the past two months and was a Retired coal miner with 34 years of service. Britton served his country proudly in the US Navy during the Vietnam war. He was a Member of the UMWA and was a member of the Church of God in Caples, West Virginia.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter Sharon Riffe; one brother Egar Riffe and one sister Frances Alger and his first wife Ruth McAlexander.

Survivors include his wife Mary Rose Riffe of Beckley, West Virginia; two sons, Robert “Buck” Riffe of Bluefield, West Virginia and David Riffe of Pineville, West Virginia; one daughter Debbie Riffe of Beckley, West Virginia; one step son, Shawn Goff and wife Annagail of Surveyor, West Virginia and one step daughter Crystal Goff of Pineville, West Virginia; one brother Teddy “Tator” Riffe of Roderfield, West Virginia; three sisters Maxine Bellany of Bluewell, West Virginia, Ruth Lester of Huff Creek, West Virginia and Virgie DiCristofaro of Princeton, West Virginia. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia with Rev. Johnny Kelly, Rev. Jimmy Justice and Rev. Kenneth Felts officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, West Virginia where family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.  Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor guard.

The Riffe family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 12:00 pm (Noon) until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
