Bobby Ratliff, Sr.

Bobby G. Ratliff Sr., 73, of Beech Island, SC entered into his new life on September 17, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones. Bobby was Born on October 25, 1943 to the late Kennard and Stella Ratliff. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was of the Christian faith. He was a retired coal miner of 30 years. His hobbies included talking to his CB buddies who knew him as "Cool Hand Luke". He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and most of all spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by, Gertrude, the love of his life and mother of his children; also two grandchildren, Timmy Miller and Tony Ratliff; two sisters, Hazel Justice and Linda Rowe; four brothers;  Bill Ratliff, Freddy Ratliff, Timmy Ratliff, and Kenny Ratliff. Surviving family members include his children: Bobby Ratliff Jr. and wife Connie of Pocahontas, VA, David Ratliff and wife Lisa of Linwood, NC, Sherry Ratliff of Glen Fork, WV, Cristy Carter and fiance Nick Newcomb of Beech Island, SC. Grandchildren including: Bobby Ratliff III, Brandon Ratliff, Tommy Ratliff, David Ratliff Jr, Nikki Morgan, Matt Lanier, Amanda Nelson, Summer Lester, Eric Carter II, Caden Carter, and Josh Carter. Great grandchildren including: Hunter and Emma Miller, Lauralie Ratliff, Eli Ratliff, Carter Ratliff, Colton and Serenity Morgan, Matt and Caden Lanier. Brothers including Lewis Ratliff, Johnny Ratliff, Donald Ratliff, Jerry Ratliff, and Charlie Ratliff. Sisters including: Mary Lambert and Margaret Mullins. And a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, September 23, at 12:00 at Cravens- Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV, officiated by pastor Michael Brooks & special singing by Barbara Marcum. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include Eric Carter II, Matt Lanier, Nick Newcomb, Cory Morgan, Alex Hamrick, Kenny Rowe, Bobby Haney Sr and Bobby Haney Jr.
