Blanche "Tootsie" Gertrude Hurst

Blanche Gertrude “Tootsie” Hurst, 89, of Lorton Lick Rd., Bluefield, WV, passed away Wednesday August 22, 2018 at the Glenwood Park Retirement Village.
Born April 19, 1929 in Mercer County, WV she was a daughter of the late William and Lettie Gillenwater Repass. Ms. Hurst was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith and was a devoted homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by; her husband, Avon “Buddy” Hurst, five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include; two sons, Robert “Bobby” Hurst and wife Janice of Princeton, WV, J.D. “John” Hurst and wife Kathy of Bluefield, WV, a daughter; Phyllis Burchette and husband Gerald of Montcalm, WV, a sister, Willa Dean Balance of Norfolk, VA, thirteen grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ms. Hurst will be conducted Monday August 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. from the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ryan Meadows and Rev. Melissa White officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery located in Bluewell. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and friends. Friends may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Sunday August 26, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
