Billy Rose

Billy Rose, 79, of the Princeton Towers, Princeton, WV, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Born on October 30, 1940 in Anawalt, he was a son of the late George Rose, Jr. and Sophia Mikels Rose. He was a US Army Veteran and work in the medical field for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Noel Eugene Rose and 2 sisters, Wanda Jones and Sandra Gail Barnes. Survivors include his sisters, Alma “Cookie” Barnes of Bluefield, WV, Nannie Matthews of Kernersville, NC, and Dorothy Bryant of Anawalt, WV, and brothers, Ernest Rose of Skygusty, WV, David Rose of Gary, WV, and Jack Rose of Thomasville, NC. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Ralph Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call prior to services, from 1:00-2:00pm on Wednesday.
