Billy Scott “Bill” Hamilton, 84, of Shephard Road, Bluefield, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
Born on November 11, 1936 in Richmond, VA, he was a son of the late Wayne and Georgia Clark Hamilton. He had been a resident of Bluefield since 1950 and was a member of the Voice of Praise in Bluewell. He was a retired coal miner with Eastern Associated Coal Company and was a member of the UMWA. He loved all sports, meeting at Tudor's to ride motorcycles with his vast collection of friends, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Dawson Hamilton; a brother, Randal “Hambone” Hamilton; a sister, Laura Martin, and two grandsons, Stephen and Kenny Clyburn and a great-granddaughter, Lydia Marie Chambers.
Survivors include his son, Scott (Nancy) Hamilton of Shady Springs, WV; daughter, Sheila L. Clyburn of Bluefield; 6 grandchildren, Nic Clyburn, Alyssa Clyburn, Ashley Hamilton, Danny Hamilton, Jonathan Hamilton and Morgan Hamilton; 2 great grandchildren, Auron Chambers and Azalee Hamilton, and a brother, Wylie Hamilton of Princeton, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Randall Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00-10:00 AM at the funeral home.
