Billy George Ellis, 90, of Nemours Valley Road Bluefield, West Virginia passed away on Thursday, February 01, 2018 at his residence.
Billy was born on February 22, 1927 in Freeman, West Virginia to the late Michael and Carrie Spivey Ellis. He had been a resident of Nemours for the past twenty years and was retired from N&S Railroad as a Lead Welder with forty three years’ service. Billy served his county proudly with the US Army, during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion and had attended Bramwell High School.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two Sisters Namree Jennings and Virginia Hill as well as one brother Richard Ellis and the greatest loss of his life his grandson Cody Ray Ellis.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years and 3 months Doris Odham Ellis of the home. Two sons Dennis K. Ellis and wife Sheba of Bluefield, West Virginia and Billy R. Ellis and wife Sabrina of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. One daughter Deborah “Dee” Agee and husband Robert of Bluefield, West Virginia. He is also survived by three grandchildren Christina Ellis Hamm and husband Justin of Bluefield, West Virginia, Brittney Ellis of Bluefield, West Virginia and Catelin Ellis of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Two great grandchildren Aaliyah Ellis and Alivia Hamm.
Graveside rites will be held on Saturday, February 03, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia with Rev. William Davis officiating burial will follow the service.
Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Bluefield, Virginia by 1:45 p.m.
