Beulah Mae Doby Farmer, 87, of 919 Lyndale Avenue, Bluefield, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at homeBorn on June 15, 1930, in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late Lewis McCoy Doby and Mary Ethel Dooley Doby. She was a lifelong member of the First Church of God on Fincastle Lane, Bluefield, Va.,serving as youth leader, song leader and on various boards and committees. She also served as a volunteer in the out-patient surgery department at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bernard Rice Farmer. Brothers: James Doby and Lewis "Bud" Doby; sisters: Alice Thomas and Muriel Box. Survivors include Diane Farmer Vollmar of Bluefield; Stephen Farmer and wife Ann of Princeton; Philip Farmer and wife Deana of Dalton Ga. Grandchildren Justin Vollmar, Nathan Vollmar of Bloomington, Ind., Jordan Vollmar of Bluefield; Rhanda Farmer Damron (Luke) of Huntington, WV; Erica Farmer Morgan (Michael) of Princeton; Erin Farmer of Dalton, Ga. Great grandchildren Christopher, Jonathan and Connor Morgan. Sisters: Laura Ealy of Bluefield; Maxine (Louie) Louck of Findlay, Ohio; Elisabeth (Arthur) Hembrook of Centerville, Ohio. Special thanks to caregivers Heather Hill and Dorthy Billings. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of God on Fincastle Lane in Bluefield, Va. with Pastor Perry Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Bluefield where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call Friday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
