Betty Lou Teel

Betty Lou Teel, 82, of Crooked Creek Drive Northfork (McDowell), West Virginia passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at her residence.

Betty was born on September 22, 1937 in Elkhorn, West Virginia to the late Joe W. Graham and Bertha Virginia Finney Graham. Betty had been a resident of McDowell for the past thirty years and was a former retail sales clerk.

In addition to her parents Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband William Teel in 1998; she was also preceded in death by four siblings Patricia Sue, Dolly Mae, Ted Graham and Scooter Graham.    

Left to cherish her memory are her children; son and caretaker Robert Burkett of Northfork, West Virginia, Brian Burkett of Franklin, Virginia, Greg Burkett and wife Tracy of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Timmy Burkett and wife Monica of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Mark Burkett and wife JoAnn of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Glenda Burkett of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Clyde “Benny” Burkett, Jr. of Gloucester, Virginia. One brother Richard “Dickie” Graham of Northfork, West Virginia. Four Sisters, JoAnn Eagle of Michigan, Carol Powell of North Carolina, Debbie Millirons of Northfork, West Virginia and Vickie “Princess” Nichols of Northfork, West Virginia. Betty is also survived a host of grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Mausoleum with Rev. Johnathan Riggins officiating the service. Entombment will follow the service. Serving as pallbearers for Betty will be family and friends.  

The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, December 23, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia.
