Betty Sutherland

Betty Ratliff Sutherland, 95, of Rock, WV entered her eternal home on Monday, April 6, 2020 and is rejoicing in Heaven with her family.

Betty was born in Ashland, WV on December 6, 1924 to Stanley and Ruth White Ratliff. She lived in Ashland until 1970, until she and Bernard moved to Rock, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard T. Sutherland; her daughter, Diana Lynn and infant son, Bernard Ray; her brothers, James Swatts and Ralph Ratliff; sisters, Janette Sampson, Ruth Earnest, Billie Taylor, Anita Ratliff and JoAnn Bailey. Betty was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include her daughters, Gloria Caldwell and Ronald of Princeton, Cheryl Beavers of Rock, WV, and Belinda Sutherland and partner Sandy East of Bluefield, VA; grandchildren, Traci Starling and Aaron, Travis Caldwell and Toni, Daniel Beavers; Darren Beavers and Kristina; great grandchildren, Morgan Johnson, Ivie Radford, Colton Caldwell, Curtis, Hailey and Jenna, Hudson, Jameson, Ellison and Aceson Beavers.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be limited family visitation on Thursday, April 9, 2020. The family asks that you stay home, stay safe and keep them in your prayers. Private services will be conducted with Pastor Melissa White officiating. Burial will follow for immediate family only at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.

Betty (Nanny) will be deeply missed, never forgotten, always cherished, and forever loved by those who knew her.
