Betty Louise Poe Oliver

Betty Louise Poe Oliver, 90, of Bluefield, West Virginia passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 at Princeton Community Hospital.  Born November 24, 1929 in McCommas, West Virginia, Betty was a daughter of the late Sidney and Ora Pruett McNew.  In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Clayton Everett Poe and her second husband, Phil Oliver.  She was the last surviving member of her family.  Betty was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a former employee of Dairy Queen.

Those left to cherish Betty’s memory are three daughters, Terry Ashley and husband, Shane of Myrtle Beach, SC, Shelia Owens and husband, Dr. Danny of Hampton, VA, and Melinda Whitley and husband, David of Burlington, NC; grandson, Paul Andrew Owens and wife, Karen of Newport News, VA; two great-grandsons, Joshua and Caleb Owens; and special caregiver, Sherfy Kiser of Bluefield, WV.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV with Dr. Danny Owens officiating. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Oliver family.
