On April 16, 2018, Betty Lightner, 90, of Nemours, West Virginia, gained her angel wings. We know she will be perfect angel because she has been a perfect mama and granny to us.
She was born in Pageton, WV on August 30, 1927, to the late Robert and Maggie Mae Rash. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lightner, a grandson Charlie Russell; three brothers, Raymond, Robert, and Joe Rash; and three sisters, Millie Ayers, Hazel Harris and Nellie Randall.
She is survived by daughters, Frances Russell of the home, Rita Holcomb and husband Rusty of Rocky Gap, VA; two granddaughters, “Granny’s Girl”, Carla Auton and husband Ben of Bluewell, and Lona Albutti of Hagerstown, MD; step-grandson, Rodney Holcomb and wife Felicia of Bramwell; one sister, Clara Lawrence of Bluefield, Virginia; 10 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; and a great grandpuppy, “Poochie”
Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Minister Tony Reed officiating. Burial will follow with Ben Auton, Hunter Auton, Larry Auton, Larry Auton, Jr., Paul Lewis, Garland Auton and Rodney Holcomb serving as pallbearers. Rusty Holcomb will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Friends may call on Thursday from 10:30-11:30 at the funeral home. Those wishing to attend graveside services are asked to meet at the funeral home by 11:30.
