Betty Blackburn

Betty Joyce Blackburn, 80, of Lindbergh Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital.   Born on January 9, 1937, in Bluefield, she was a daughter of the late John Samuel and Gertrude Perry harry. She had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield and was a former member of the First Church of the Nazarene on Stadium Drive in Bluefield. She was a homemaker.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Blackburn. Survivors include:   2 daughters:      Connie Brown of Brewer, ME                                 Linda Shinault and husband Ronnie of Princeton   3 sons:  David farmer and wife Joyce of Hickory, NC                 Jimmy Blackburn and wife Drema of Bluefield                 Ricky Blackburn and wife Jeannie of Princeton   16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren   2 sisters:              Shirley Parsons Lambert and husband Percy of Bluefield                                 Juanita Barrett of Phoenix, AZ   Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. John Branham officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where Ronnie Farmer, Jimmy Brown, Danny Brown, Keith Blackburn, James Blackburn, and Kayden Jones will serve as pallbearers.   Friends may call on Saturday, prior to services, from 1:00-2:00PM at the funeral home.   Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com
