Betsy Holmes

Betsy Farmer Holmes, 85, of Princeton, WV went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at home with family at her side. Born on August 1, 1939 in Foster, OH, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Burris and Viola Burris Cole. She loved flowers and growing them in her flower beds. She loved and enjoyed time with her fur baby, Honey Bear.

In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Franklin Farmer; son, James Farmer; grandson, Kevin Farmer; great-grandson, Brandon Meadows; brothers, Robert Burris, Paul Burris, Richard Burris; sister, Mary Perkins; and second husband, Tom Holmes.

Those left to cherish Betsy’s memory are her sons, Franklin Farmer and wife, Sherry, Daniel Farmer and wife Tanya, Steven Farmer and wife, Sharman; daughter, Brenda Farmer and Larry; brother, Thomas Burris; sisters, Rose Dunn, Bonnie Brown, Donna Fitzgerald; 13 grandchildren, Tracy Farmer, Kelly Farmer-Watts, Heather Kilpatrick, Paul Shrewsbury, Sarah Riggs, Rebecca Thompson, Clyde (Peanut) Shrewsbury, Jennifer Brazee, Kathy Woods, Justin Farmer, Jared Farmer, James Farmer, and Laura Farmer; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Minister Rick Mathena officiating. 

Friends may call prior to services, from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at the funeral home.
