Bessie Elizabeth Carriger

Bessie Elizabeth Carriger, 97, of Bluefield, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Born on September 9, 1920 in Belfrey, KY, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Bessie Santo. She had formerly lived in Capels before moving to Bluefield and was a graduate of Welch High School. She was a former clerk at Big Lots.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Clayton Carriger, Sr., a son, Albert Carriger, Jr.; and brothers, John, Joe and Mike. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Rodney Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 2:00-3:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Mercer County Humane Society.
