Barbara Ann Poynter

Barbara Ann Poynter, 85, of Lorton Lick Road (Bluewell) Bluefield, WV, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at her home.

Born on December 4, 1934 in Maybeury, she was a daughter of the late Lyle Hubert and Ruby Mae Crockett Ratcliffe. She had been a resident of Bluewell for 62 years and attended the Church of God. She was a retired nurse and homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Poynter; and three brothers, Charles Ray Ratcliffe, Donald H. Ratcliffe, and Douglas Lee Ratcliffe.

Survivors include her husband, Walter F. Poynter of the home; daughters, Kimberly (Tony) Spangler of Floyd, VA, and Cyndi (Steve) Hall of Bluefield, WV; sons, Thomas (Martha) Robinson of Princeton, and Timothy (Julie) Poynter of Sandlick; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She loved her family and grandchildren dearly.

Due to the pandemic, private cryptside services for the family will be conducted on Monday at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Rev. Jonathan Riggins officiating. Entombment will follow.
