Barbara Evelyn Moody

Barbara Evelyn Moody, 79, of Rock, WV, passed Sunday, July 16, 2023, at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital.

Born on June 3, 1944, in Cherokee, WV,  she was a daughter of the late Earl and Mamie Poole Stamper. Barbara was a member of Montcalm United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was the last surviving member of her family.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her brother, Sonny Stamper and sisters, Earline Stamper, Alma Satterwhite, Alice Sprinkle, and Eula Shrewsberry.

Those left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her husband of 59 years, Ona B. Moody Sr., of the home; son, Ona B. Moody Jr., of Farnham, VA; daughter, Maria L. Moody, of Bramwell, WV; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Barbara’s name.

In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, she will be cremated, and the family will hold services at a later date.
